About the NCS Foundation

OUR MISSION

The Novato Charter School Foundation raises necessary funds to retain and support the Waldorf curriculum for ALL children at Novato Charter School (NCS).

WHO WE ARE

The NCS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public benefit nonprofit organization operated by our Director of Development and parent volunteers exclusively for the betterment of the Novato Charter School, a California Distinguished School.

The NCS Foundation supports all fundraising efforts including:

Annual Pledge Drive
Enchanted Gala & Auction
Grandparents’ & Special Friends’ Day
School Events & Festivals
Corporate Sponsorships and Grants

WHAT WE FUND

Through the funds raised from families and the community, the NCS Foundation annually grants a monetary gift to NCS to fully fund the Waldorf enrichment offered at our school, including:

Salaries & benefits for our Specialty program teachers (music, handwork, movement, Spanish, & math). Specialty program materials like Violins, sheet music, organic seeds, chicken coop, Spanish books, and yarn.
Enriching school-wide and class activities like rental fees & decorations for Winter Spiral, our beloved Maypole for Spring Festival, and field trips to places like Slide Ranch & Mt. Lassen.
Waldorf curriculum & quality school supplies like Kindergarten snack, cooperative board games, pentatonic flutes, and water color supplies.
Campus Improvements like Bark mulch for playgrounds, basketball court and hoops, fence upgrades, and picnic tables for outdoor lunch.

WHY DONATE?

The Annual Pledge is a family giving campaign that raises the funds needed to make Public Waldorf education possible at NCS. Your donation is critical for closing the gap between what public school funding pays for, and the enriching Waldorf programs we want to provide for our children at NCS. Public school funds cover only approximately 80% of the NCS operating budget.

All families are asked to make a voluntary annual pledge. The suggested amount is $200 per month per student to cover the costs of our enriching, and distinguished, Waldorf curriculum.
100% participation is our goal, so choose the amount that works best for your family.
You can make a monthly recurring donation, or a one-time lump sum contribution, through our secure donation page. All contributions are greatly appreciated.
